The courses offered by the Department of English for the degree of BA Honours are spread over four years and carry a total of 3000 marks. The courses on English language and literature will carry 2600 marks and the remaining 400 marks will be made up from the other courses integrated into the Honours programme. The programme requires an extensive reading of literary texts with primary focus on their contexts, genres, theoretical apparatus, and interpretive tools. Language skills and proficiency are part of the degree. Students are also introduced to English Language Teaching methods and research methodology as part of the curriculum.
